Introduction
A season opener has to feel like the season before it has happened. Petronas wanted the noise and speed of a MotoGP night with the lights turned up to Tron — before a single wheel had turned in anger. So we built the whole thing out of polygons and light.

The Challenge

The brief pointed straight at Tron: capture the essence of high-speed racing, then give the MotoGP world a futuristic, electrifying twist. Easy to say, harder to build — because there was no footage to lean on. No track day, no onboards, no b-roll of pit lane at dawn. Every frame of the bike, the rider and the night around them had to be made from zero, and it still had to feel like racing — the lean, the snap, the corner arriving faster than you'd like.

Our Approach

It was Petronas MotoGP's first time putting 3D animation and visual effects into a campaign, and — with AME Group alongside — they trusted one team with all of it: direction, modelling, animation, compositing, colour, edit, music and mix. That matters more than it sounds. When the animator shaping the lean angle shares a room with the person mixing the engine note, shot and sound land as one decision, not a chain of handovers. We modelled the bike, dressed it in the livery, and sent it through a circuit drawn in light.

The Result

Light trails, lean angle and a livery in motion — a season opener the team could run everywhere, because it was built to travel. The season film sets the tone; the cutdowns keep it moving; the social verticals put the glow in a pocket. All of it CG, all of it from one room. For a team stepping into 3D for the first time, that's the quiet win: they didn't dip a toe in. They opened the season at full lean.
